Because a written standup is three people reporting they are still working on the same thing. It costs everybody ten minutes and carries no information.
The standup digest is a short daily summary of what moved, what is blocked and what is at risk on a project, drafted from the record.
It reads task transitions, logged hours, new blocks and dependency changes since yesterday, and cites the specific items behind each line so a claim can be checked in one click.
The digest names two tasks that closed, one that has been blocked for three days on a client decision, and a phase with no logged hours this week. That is a five-minute conversation rather than a fifteen-minute round-robin.
It will not replace the standup where the standup is doing something else. Digests report movement; they do not surface the thing somebody is quietly worried about.
Tasks, timesheets, dependencies and blocked states — the same record the plan reads.
Project chat, email or both, on a schedule you set.
Yes, filtered to what somebody owns or watches.
For internal digests it sends as drafted; nothing client-facing sends unreviewed.
Fourteen days, every module, no card. Or half an hour with someone who will run it on your own records and tell you where it does not help.
